Moller Maersk and responsible for their global sustainable procurement strategy. As Managing Director, he\u00a0 also heads up Maersk\u2019s procurement unit in Mumbai \u2013 with 300 employees, this is the logistics service provider\u2019s largest procurement department.<\/p>\n\n                                    <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n<\/p>\n<div class='container  py-3'><div class=\"row \"><div class=\"col-lg-12\"><h3>Although our global economy would grind to a halt without the <strong><span style=\"color: #a0d60a;\">logistics sector<\/span><\/strong>, it is also a significant factor in climate change. What steps is Maersk taking to become <strong><span style=\"color: #a0d60a;\">more sustainable<\/span><\/strong>?<\/h3>\n<p>Maersk is well aware of its role and responsibilities and is proud to be one of the first movers in the logistics industry when it comes to implementing sustainability initiatives.\u00a0 More specifically, we are in the process of creating a company-wide sustainability strategy that is embedded at management level and underpinned by concrete measures across a range of workstreams.<\/p>\n<h3>What role does procurement play in this <strong><span style=\"color: #a0d60a;\">transformation<\/span><\/strong>?<\/h3>\n<p>Sustainable procurement is part of the ESG workstream but we are also closely integrated into the other workstreams.
